Think about this as a small group Bible study.
Only instead of meeting in someone's home or in a church classroom, we will
be meeting in cyberspace. Our classroom is a discussion board. Each
week we will post the study questions from one lesson in the
featured Bible study. Post
your comments on those questions on the board. Try to post within the
thread for appropriate verse being studied rather than starting a new
thread. That will keep things more organized.
While light weight, respectful disagreement is expected, we must all
remember that we are Christians and we need to act as such.
That means flaming other persons, referring to those who disagree with you
as heretics or cultists, and using degrading language is not only
discouraged, but it will not be tolerated. I can, and will, remove
disrespectful postings and ban the offenders.
This needs to be a safe place to joyfully discuss the things of God, not a
forum for fighting or debating. There are plenty of places on the web
to do that. This is not one of them.
Likewise, this is not a dating
service or a sales room. Posting commercial announcements or requests
for dates is also prohibited. Also, do not post political materials
including critiques of candidates, ballot measures, or hot button political
issues such as abortion, death penalty, gun control, etc. Keep the focus on
the Biblical discussion. Again, there are plenty of places to discuss
those issues.
These are simple things to do and will help ensure you enjoy this forum.
